I have just been watching WBS on T.V. Tokyo. I had already mentioned the bizarre manner in which Akiko Sasaki, an analyst, and a commentator who claims to be an editorial writer for the Nikkei Shimbun, appeared on the program when Mr. Takaichi was on live the other night.
Tonight, too, the behavior was what can only be described as the ultimate in excess.
As for the LDP's parliamentary seats, Kono, Kishida, and Takaichi, in the order of their votes, are in the lead, with Kishida slightly ahead at the moment, but the situation is highly fluid, which is the standard view of the general public.
Mr. Takaichi is overwhelmingly popular with the public, and this reality will eventually manifest itself.
On its front page this morning, even the Nikkei carried a headline about the competition among the three. Yet, without mentioning Takaichi's name at all, Akiko Sasaki said it was a battle between Kono and Kishida, ignoring Takaichi all the way to the top.
The above two journalists have continuously provided the most biased news coverage ever.
What makes them so openly ignore Ms. Takaichi before they are disqualified as a journalist?
One can only surmise that the only explanation for this level of egregiousness is that Akiko Sasaki is, to use Jun Takada's terminology, a "Trojan horse" that China is unleashing on Japan.
When Ms. Takaichi appeared live on stage, she mentioned that Japan has few female Diet members and that their low participation in society is an important issue.
If that was their intention, the fact that Japan is about to have its first female prime minister should have been the biggest news of all.
In other words, they are so obsessed with something that they cannot even realize that they are showing the world the outrageous fact that they are just using the issue of women to undermine Japan, just as the anti-Japanese forces are using the U.N. to undermine Japan.
I suspect that is precisely what China is.
