The nonpartisan "Diet Members Caucus for LGBT Issues" held a board meeting on March 20. Tomomi Inada, former defense minister of the Liberal Democratic Party and acting chairperson, said, "We would like to pass a law to promote understanding of LGBT people by the G7 (Group of Seven) summit meeting," and she hopes that the law will be enacted by May 19, 2012.
