微妙な余韻が残るように感じます。
これでアルバム「The River」まで特集を終えました。
5月にManchesterに行くまでに「Nebraska」「Born in the U.S.A.」「Tunnel of Love」と「The Rising」を特集出来たらいいと思っています。
毎日1曲ペースを守りたいです。

昨日の夜俺は車を運転していた
一日の仕事を終えて家へ帰っていた
俺は霧雨の中一人で運転していた
車の通らないまっすぐ伸びた片道一車線の郡道で
車の事故に出会った

血とあたり一面に割れたガラスが飛び散っていた
そこには俺以外誰もいなかった
雨が激しく冷たく降って来た
俺は若い男が道路の端で横たわっているのを見た
彼は小さく叫んだ「すみません。助けてください。お願いします」

救急車がやっと来てその若い男を川の側の病院へ連れて行った
俺は彼が運ばれて行くのを見た
そして彼のガールフレンド、あるいはかわいらしい若い奥さんのことを考えた
警察官が真夜中にドアをノックする
そして「あなたの恋人が車の事故で亡くなられました」と言うのを

時々俺は真夜中眠らないでじっと座っていることがある
俺は恋人が眠っているのを見ている
そして俺は彼女の眠っているベッドに行き彼女をきつく抱きしめる
俺は眠らないで彼女の脇で横たわっている。真夜中に
あの車の事故を考えながら

Sometimes I sit up in the darkness
And I watch my baby as she sleeps
Then I climb in bed and I hold her tight
I just lay there awake in the middle of the night
