We had the Sidney delegation on campus on October 16, 2015.
Sidney is Niimi's Canadian sister city, and located in British Columbia.
This was the second time for us to have Sidney delegation on campus.
The first time was October 2010 (Seeカナダのシドニー・タウンからの訪問団が来学).
The workers of the college office were very cooperative and prepared for the delegation.
We showed them around on campus, including the graduation thesis presentations of the Nursing School and "Nikotan" play room.
We served sweet potato harvested by the students of the Department of Early Childhood Education.
We had a delightful time on our campus together.
I have noticed that some of the students who are eager to mingle with guests from abroad are those who have participated in our study tours abroad.
Of course there are other students who are very actively involved in the communicating with the visitors, but I would like to believe that their experiences to be welcomed in foreign countries and communicate with strangers fully motivate them to pay back the hospitality they received during their stay abroad and to use the communication methods they acquired in the study tours.
