On that day, News Station reported on the polluted water problem hearing and the nuclear fuel removal work that started in the fast breeder reactor "Monju" in one item.

＊私は、今はこの番組は全く観ないのだが、先日、ネットで報道内容がガラッと変わったという嘘の記事に惑わされて観た時と全く同様なのである。私が観た時は、自民党の総裁選挙に関して、例によって、石破茂を持ち上げ安倍首相を批判する報道の中で、（コメンテーターは、朝日新聞の代理人そのものの共同通信の後藤某）2012年の総裁選挙の時には、安倍首相が所属している派閥の長である故・町村信孝氏が立候補していたから、安倍首相は、地方党員獲得活動は殆どできなかった…だから石破茂が一人勝ちした…その基本的な情報を全く伝えなかった…しかもその事実は放送の数日前に読売新聞が報道し、続いて産経新聞も報道していた事実であるにも拘わらず＊
視聴者に、事柄の全体像の把握と最も重要な問題点の理解につながる情報を伝えずして、報道番組たり得るのか。　
事の本質を切り出して見せることもなく、表面的な批判に終始するのでは、井戸端会議的なワイドショーと同じではないか。
そんな無責任な報道が、原発問題を乗り越え、地域を再活性化し生活を立て直そうとしている地元の人達の努力を潰す。
西本さんはそのことを「マスコミによる風評被害」と喝破したのである。　
その日、報ステは汚染水問題の公聴会と、高速増殖炉「もんじゅ」で始まった核燃料取り出し作業を、ひとつの項目で報じた。
以下は公聴会の部分の要旨である。　
まずスタジオで女子アナが、1Ｆの汚染水が「どんどん増え続けている」「処理された水が入ったタンクは９００基」「これを薄めて海に流す案について、公聴会が開かれた」というリードを読んで、ＶＴＲに入った。

冒頭、漁師の小野春雄氏のコメントが炸裂した。　
「福島県の海に放出することだけは、絶対に、反対です」　
ナレーションで、1Ｆに大量保管されているトリチウム水は現在１００万トンを超えて増え続けており、保管場所の確保は難しく、薄めて海に流す案が検討中であると伝え、「海洋投棄が経済的にも一番優れた方法だ」という研究者の見解を紹介。
その直後、小野氏がまたもや激しく感情的に、こう語るのが紹介された。　
「トリチウムを海洋放出して、それが安全で（あろうと）なかろうと、それを放出した時点から、さらに風評被害を上乗せされます。賠償金をもらいたくて賛成するなんて、絶対、そんなことありえません」　
別の出席者と傍聴人の、「風評被害は拡大する。そういった海産物を口にしたくない」「いわきに避難中だが、そういうことをやられると、帰ってくるという認識がまた遠のく」という批判が続いて公聴会の報道はここで1区切りとなった。

これが国際社会の基準で、中国、韓国、ロシア、米国など、どの国もその基準で海に放出中だ。
過去現在を含めて日本も同様だ。
例外が福島なのである。　
②について、トリチウムは元々、自然界に存在する核種でわずかに放射線を出すが、水と同じ性質であるため生体内で濃縮されず、十分に薄めれば人体には全く無害だ。
雲などの大気中の水分に、空から降ってくる宇宙線が衝突して、トリチウムが生まれ、その中で私たちは暮らしているが、トリチウムが人体に外部被曝を起こすこともない。

もうひとつ、報ステが知らん顔をしていたのが、賠償金欲しさに放出に賛成することは絶対にないと断じた小野氏の言葉である。
現在も続く福島の混乱と、結果として復興を妨げている後ろ向きな言動は、賠償金問題と密接に絡み合っている。

東電は福島県内の避難指示区域内等に対して、商工業は国の基準の倍の４年に、将来分としてさらに２年間、農業も国の基準の倍の６年に加えてさらに３年間支払い、漁業については現時点で終期を定めることなく賠償を継続中である。　
漁業者への補償は終わりがないのだ。
漁業者は商工業者、農業者に較べて手厚く補償されているといえる。だが事情はもう少しこみ入っており、地元に行くと、漁業補償が二つの型に大別されていることに気づく。　
①現在も完全に休業している漁民に、3.11以前の漁獲高（収入）と見合う額を全額賠償しているケース、
②すでに漁に出ているが、以前の漁獲高に較べて売り上げが不足な場合、その差を賠償するケースである。　
3.11から7年余が過ぎたいま、多くの漁師が②のパターンに戻っていて欲しいと思うのは当然だろう。
元気に働くことによって困難を乗り越える力も出てくるからだ。
しかし、現在も①のパターンにとどまっている人々がいる。
漁業協同組合は、①群、②群の双方を守りつつ、東電との交渉の窓口になっている。
漁に出ないで補償で暮す生活を続けるケースも、こうした状況の中で許容されてきた。
