After harvesting

  Some farmers are drying rice plants after harvesting.

They use the dried rice plants for their vegetable fields, feeding cows and so on.

Beautiful area of Kurashiki

  We call this area 'Bi-ka-n-chi-ku' ; (beautiful area) and the famous 'O-ha-ra art mu-si-u-m' is also there.

We can enjoy beautiful scenery all year round there.

 

 

I had lunch at the restaurant in the hotel called 'Kurashiki ivy square' which was once a cotton mill.

It was reformed it to a nice hotel  with  lots of ivy.

I enjoyed very much on that day.

Lots of people were walking along the path on this festival day.

There were exhibitions of folding screen that are held by the citizens on the day of the autumn festival.

We visited the houses one after another where beautiful flower arrangement was also seen.

They welcome the visitors by exhibiting precious things on the festival days.

Autumn festival 1

Portable shrine called 'Se-n-za-i-ra-ku'

   Autumn festival was held at Kurashiki in Okayama prefecture on October 20 and 21.

These masked couples called 'Su-i-n-kyo' were seen here and there on the street.

They pat on the head around them.
It is said that the person patted by 'Su-i-n-kyo' would become healthy and smart or wise.

I came across these demons walking on the street too.

I could enjoy the festival very much !

 

Harvest

Rice field September 25

Now is the season of harvesting.
Green rice fields have turned to golden now.
Rice plants planted in June have grown up well and have much rice ears.
Farmers around my house and also my husband are busy in harvesting them.

Fragrant orange-colored olive

Walking along the lane, I smelled sweet from somewhere.

I found it was 'Fragrant orange-colored olive' blooming here and there.

It has lots of orange colored tiny flowers now.

Trial

I was surprised at looking at this cube at this site.
As I had an interest in this skill, I also tried it.
Thanks to this site, I could manage to succeed in this trial.

By the way, Cluster amaryllis;(Spider lily) is in full bloom now and its red color attract our attention.
They are blooming along the rice fields here and there.
The contrast of green and red is so nice !
Because of the heat of this summer, they are blooming later than usual.
