Cherry blossom

About two weeks have passed since the massive earthquake and tsunami occured.
The damage is beyond description and the number of  people who died or missing is more than 20000.
And  the nuclear power plant crisis in Fukushima Prefecture is still continuing.
Besides the effects of radioactive contamination of food and drinking water are spreading.
But the pacific ocean that brought giant tsunami is calm as if there had been nothing. 

Regardless of our struggle, nature is going forward.
Cherry blossoms that is one of the sign of spring are blooming beautifully.

Tremendous catastrophe

M 8.8 earthquake happened at the coast of Sa-n-ri-ku yesterday afternoon and tsunami followed the earthquake brought unbelievable damage to the Tohoku region.
The damage brought by the massive tsunami was beyond description.
Many towns were disappeared by the tsunami and more than 1500 people were died or missing by now.
Of course, many houses, bridges and roads were broken down and big fire broke out.  
Oil tanks were also burning for a long time.
 I've never seen destruction like this by the nature .
It's not like a real one but virtual. 
In addition, an accident happened in the nuclear power plant in Fukushima prefecture today.
An explosion in one of the plant happened in the afternoon too.
Many people near the plant were ordered to evacuate.   
I hope the accident won't become a serious one.
Nature is awful as well as gentle.
How weak man is before the nature ! 

And I would like to express my deep sympathy to those who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami tragedy.

Ke-i-chi-tsu

U-me blossom

Today is one of the 24 ｓeasonal datum points called 'Ke-i-chi-tｓu'; the day when the tiny worms begin to come out of the ground because it began to warm around this time of the year.
But it was rainy and cold today. 

I see some kinds of spring flowers and plants these days.
I found some butterbur sprouts in my yard.

And while taking a walk, I saw flowers like Iris though it usually doesn't bloom at this time.

 

Narcissus

Today is the day of Hina Doll's Festivai ; Hi-na-ma-tsu-ri in Japan.
It is the festival for girls and we set Hina Doll and celebrate girls eating su-shi, hi-shi-mo-chi (rice cake) or drinking white sa-ke and so on wishing for good health, good luck, or happiness of girls.
It is a gorgeous one.

By the way, I found narcissus blooming beautifully while I was taking a walk this afternoon.
We Japanse love this neat flower very much.
