Morning glory
Hot days are continuing and we hadn't had rain for about forty days here.
Farmers who are growing vegetables are having trouble of watering them.
So we were longing for rainfall.
This evening, we had a shower for about thirty minutes.
Flowers, plants and trees seems to be glad to have water as well as farmers.
Besides it became cool a little.
It'll be cool little by little from now.
I'm longing for coming of cool fall !
Inari shrine by lord Ito of Okada clan
This Inari shrine was built by lord Ito in the Edo period and was a village shrine of the family for a long time.
It stands inside the enclosure of the old residence of feudal lord .
After lord Ito left this village at Meiji period, it has been enshrined by the people of this village.
Twice a year, in February and in July, we clean the precincts of the shrine and enshrine it.
Now that this building began to break down, we decided to rebuild it.
There was lots of opinion about the construction, and we decided to build a smaller one.
Each family pay about ￥50,000 for the construction.

A praying mantis and a zinnia
Bon Festival is from August 13 to August 16.
It is a chain of events to which ancestral spirits are enshrined.
Many people come back home and visits a grave.
I also visited graves where my parents are sleeping today.
Of course I visited graves of my house the other day and cleaned it.
Priests are also busy in visiting houses to recite sutras in front of the Buddhist altar.
And Bon dance is held here and there at this time of the year.
It is one of the big events for Japanese people.

It was very hot today too.
But tomorrow is the first day of fall on the calender.
It's one of the 24 seasonal datum points called ' Rishu'.
It'll be cool little by little especially in the morning and at night.
And the sky is changing from the summer sky to fall one.

It has been very hot since the end of rainy season on July 17 and it hasn't rained for about two weeks.
And sultry days have been continuing since then.
Of course farmers who grow vegetables are having trouble in watering them.
Moreover many people all over Japan have been dying of Sultry Heat Disorder.
They had died not only outside the house but also inside the house, so we have to be careful wherever we are.
But cicadas are very vigorous and singing loudly from early in the morning.
I feel more hot hearing the song of this insect.
