Lunch at a temple

2014-10-24 | diary

gate of a temple

Japanese style garden

Wed., October 22

I went to a temple named Jo-fu-ku-ji at Na-ri-wa to enjoy lunch with my sisters-in-law the day before yesterday.

We drove to the temple in the heavy rain .

As we had had a reservation, we decided to go in spite of the heavy rain.

It was the first time in about 30 years, so my memory of that time had  almost missed.

I had known that the dishes were made with the cooperation of the women of the neifgborhood.

And this time, I was surprized very much at the beauty of the rebuilt building for lunch and the dishes that were very complicated and refind by hand made.

deep-fried dishes using seasonal vegetables

Two kinds of soup, chestnut rice, and pickled vegetables were followed to this dish, but i was too busy in enjoying dishes to take pictures.

The dishes were much more splendid than I expected.

* We call these dishes 'Shojinryouri' and they make dishes without meat and fish.

In the midst of autumn

2014-10-14 | diary

Mikoshi for children

Sacred lantern in my house

Mikoshi

We held an autumn festival from October 11 to 12.

And we also had a large-scale typhoon No.19 that brought lots of damage all over Japan.

Strong wind blew yesterday here too.

I found many scattered plant pot this morning.

But It was a fine autumn day today after the passage of a typhoon.

sweet persimmons

I harvested these persimmons with my husband this afternoon.

I presented some of them to my neighbors.

These are a mere part of them, so there are lots of persimmons left on the persimmon tree.

Crows and other birds will be glad to see them.
