Visiting a zen temple

Ke-ko-u-ji

 

   Yesterday afternoon, I attended a meeting at  a zen temple named Ke-ko-u-ji that stands in the hill in Sojya city.

After reciting Heart Sutra, I copied sutra named Ha-n-nya Shi-n-gyo for  less than one hour.

We offered Sutra-copying to a principal image and had a little rest with a cup of green tea and some Japanese sweets.

We also had a meeting of human-right study which was a main event at the meeting.

What was projected by a slide was a catastrophe in Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and the people or the lives of Fukushima.

Mr Minoru Kamata who is a honorary directer of Suwa medical center was also projected on the screen.

He has been greatly concerned about the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster so he was very shocked at that catastrophe.

So he visited Fukushima many times and is encouraging the people there.

It seems that many people there are experiencing human-right discrimination from various reasons.  

After the slide, we exchanged opinions.

The slide made us think much.

There are many problems to solve.

Driving to an art museum

 

  I went to Denchu Art Museum in Ibara City to appreciate the sculpture of Koutato Takamura with my sister-in-law yesterday afternoon.  

The exhibition was being held from August 30 to October 20.

Ibara city had the 60th anniversary of the Ibara municipal organization.

I'm not so interested in the sculpture, but I could enjoy the works a little.

 

I also appreciated the paper pictures by Madam Chieko and sculpture by Denchu Hiragushi. 

 

  By the way, I became 65 years old this spring, so admission fee was half the sum. 

I used the right for the first time in my life.

Restarting of Kiva

Japanese toad lily

 I restarted my loan to Kiva about after about ten months.

She is the eighth person I loaned $25 through Kiva.

She is 35-year-old woman  living in Sierra Leone and have 6 children.

She has been running her business since 2000. 

She sells  cigarettes, milk, pure water and other drinks. 

Her loan is $450 and is going to repay the money in 7 months.

I hope her business goes well !

Damage by noxious insect

 

  Wow !

I see many rice fields like this.

Rice plants are damaged by noxious insect called 'UNKA' in Japanese.

So some farmers had harvested earlier than usual.

 

 

My husband's rice fields are also damaged.

We should harvest them as early as possible.  

Scenery in autumn

It's October 1 today.

Comfortable autumn has come at last.

It's cool early in the morning and at night though it's sometimes hot during the day.

Scenery around us is the one of autumn.

By the way, I like autumn better than any other seasons.
