[書籍紹介] 米末日聖徒が旧約聖書の文書説について出版

今年一月米ユタ州の出版社から末日聖徒の学者が
モーセ五書の文書説について本を出していたこと
が分かった。ここに目次を転載する。

著者はユタ大学教授。BYUで歴史学を学んだの
を皮切りに、ブランデイズ大学でヘブライ語聖
書、古代中近東の分野で博士号を取得している。

注目したいのは、BYUのジョン・ウェルチが序
文でこの書の登場を歓迎し、聖書を研究する道
具として高等批評（文書説を含む）の意義を認
めている点である。彼はこの書を鏑矢として同
様の、聖書研究法の解説書が多数続くことを期
待している。高等批評は時に慎重な扱いを必要
とするが、キリスト教界で他者と充分に意思を
通じ合うのにも役立つと書いている。
