Gion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gion (祇園, ぎおん) is a district of Kyoto, Japan, originally developed in the Middle Ages, in front of Yasaka Shrine. The district was built to accommodate the needs of travelers and visitors to the shrine. It eventually evolved to become one of the most exclusive and well-known geisha districts in all of Japan.

The geisha in the Gion district (and Kyoto generally) do not refer to themselves as geisha; instead, Gion geisha use the local term geiko. While the term geisha means "artist" or "person of the arts", the more direct term geiko means essentially "a child of the arts" or "a woman of art".

Divisions

This neighborhood in Kyoto has two hanamachi (geiko communities): Gion Kōbu (祇園甲部) and Gion Higashi (祇園東), which split many years ago; Kōbu is larger, occupying most of the district, while Higashi is smaller and occupies the northeast corner, centered around its rehearsal hall. Despite the considerable decline in the number of geisha in Gion in the last one hundred years, it is still famous for the preservation of forms of traditional architecture and entertainment.

Entertainment

Teahouses
Gion remains dotted with old-style Japanese houses called machiya, which roughly translated means "townhouse", some of which are ochaya or "tea houses". These are traditional establishments where the patrons of Gion―from the samurai of old to modern-day businessmen―have been entertained by geiko in an exclusive manner for centuries.
Inside the ochaya is a private and closed world where the evening's entertainment may include cocktails, conversation, and games as well as traditional Japanese music, singing and dancing. To this day, geiko and maiko (geisha in training) in full regalia can still be seen in the evenings as they move about through the streets of Gion to and from their various engagements at the ochaya. They dance and sing and they entertain for everyone.

Other
There are also many modern entertainment establishments in Gion – restaurants of all types, bars, clubs, pachinko, off-track betting, and a very large number of tourist-oriented establishments, particularly along Shijō Street; the region is both a major tourist hub, and a popular nightlife spot for locals. Streets vary dramatically in character, and quiet traditional streets abut modern ones. Among the traditional streets, Hanami Lane (花見小路 Hanami-kōji?, "flower-viewing lane") and environs is a major preserved street. It ranges from Shijō Street at the north end, anchored by the famous Ichiriki Chaya, and running south to the major temple of Kennin-ji.
The stretch of the Shirakawa River before it enters the Kamo river is also a popular preserved area. It is lined on the south side with traditional establishments which directly abut the river, and some are accessed by crossing bridges from the north side. The north side was previously also lined with buildings, but these were torn down in World War II as a fire-prevention measure, and the section is now primarily a pedestrian street, lined with cherry blossoms. These are lit up in the evening in the spring, and the area is active year-round.
There is a popular misconception that Gion was a red-light district. It was a geisha district, and as geisha are entertainers, not prostitutes, Gion is not, and never was, a red-light district. Shimabara was Kyoto's red-light district.

Annual events

The geiko and maiko of Gion perform annual public dances, as do those of all five geisha districts in Kyoto. The oldest of these date to the Kyoto exhibition of 1872. The more popular of these is the Miyako Odori, literally "Dances of the Old Capital" (sometimes instead referred to as "Cherry Blossom Dances"), staged by the geisha of Gion Kōbu, which dates to 1872. The dances run from April 1 through April 30 each year during the height of the cherry blossom (sakura) season. Spectators from Japan and worldwide attend the events, which range from "cheap" seats on tatami mats on the floor, to reserved seats with a small tea ceremony beforehand. Gion Higashi holds a similar dance in early November, around autumn leaves, known as Gion Odori; this is more recent and has fewer performances.

“Celestial bliss of Sakura in Kyoto”

Akutagawa this year was much more waiting for Sakura to become in full bloom last year, too.
Of Sakura's becoming in full bloom in the direct early days in Tokyo as you know.
It was when trying to head for Karasumaru Oike from some day, Hankyu Shijo Kawaramachi station and being.
It went along in Takase-gawa in the Shijo-Kawara city, i.e. in the place at the entrance of Kiya town.

it was stunned.

Excellent Sakura, what, is it?
It thought that it wasn't exaggerated even if it said that this was the best of Japan.
It was amazement and the beauty which it has no choice but to describe in dumb surprise.

The acquaintance got to publish several sheets of 100 photograph collections Akutagawa entitled which to be celestial Sakura as Akutagawa's “doing a heart and good “today.

This photograph collection is the one which Akutagawa took by going along in Takase-gawa from Sanjou to Gojo Sakura in Kiya town and and taking Sakura on the Kamogawa riverside.

A cherry tree in Kiyomizu-dera which anyone of the person who visits Kyoto visits almost is included. It is Gion Hanami Shouji with that.

Kyoto where there is Sakura which is excellent so much more with the busy shopping area than saying a true central part in the town.
When the town like such Kyoto isn't exaggerated even if it says to be nowhere in the world, Akutagawa is convinced.

The crossing contesting should be captive like Akutagawa in you by several sheets of 100 of doing the excellently of Sakura which it should be surprised at.

Meeting last year, Akutagawa who was intoxicated by the first time colored leaves in the life was intoxicated this year by the first time Sakura.

Akutagawa entitles their Sakura “Celestial bliss of Sakura in Kyoto” and sends to the world.

Today, the part 1 should reach you in the world.

Please, appreciate.

all over the world should have reached a rage mind especially really to the mean and stupid evil.

Day before yesterday, all over the world should have reached a rage mind especially really to the mean and stupid evil.

However, the evil inhabits all over the world.

Kuukai seems to have said forward by hundreds of years of 1,000 " that the evil exists ".
However, the reason which Kuukai is enough for by Kuukai is in the place to have said as follows.

The evil doesn't pass away.
How is it if being?
It accomplishes a good deed.
It continues to accomplish a good deed forever.
Respectively, Akutagawa noticed Kuukai's quintessence.

There was an internationally flagrant fund manager who is registering a head office to Cayman Islands and the other day, the newspaper were telling the discourse of the foreigner but Akutagawa thinks that this person, too, is the symbol of the evil.

For some reason?

He spends short selling on the weak yen and aims at the large profit and seems to accomplish an already considerable large profit, too.
The he was saying as follows coolly.
It was indexes such as the Japanese economy, the beginning at the end.
If I have a family to Japan, it says that it replaces property in Japan with the foreign loan and that it moves it to the foreign country.
It isn't exaggerated wherever it says whether or not any more evil will be.

For example, the thing that that Akutagawa did 100 % of writing in "The Turntable of Civilization" was right in the exchange, too, is historically proved surely now.

Only by being only consequential what but that there was not a person who wrote clear when Akutagawa wrote and said by making simple at all about it.

However, that the concept of The Turntable of Civilization dwells only in Akutagawa's brain is needless to say.
By the way, does Akutagawa who wrote the truth hang short selling on the weak yen like him and will he have erased it big already?
Of course, it is NO.
There is not a person who accomplishes such conduct in the genuine consideration person who tells the truth who writes the truth.
