Pretty flower and its fruit

It's the season of strawberry.
But this tiny red fruit isn't a strawberry though we call it 'Snake Strawberry'; 'He-bi I-chi-go' in Japanese.
We can see them along the footpath and in the field now.

Can we eat the bery of Hebiichigo ?
