陸軍参謀と朝日が唱えた「一億火の玉」「一億玉砕」論による「終戦妨害工作」は熾烈を極めた。

天皇制の日本は「万世一系」、世界でも稀有な最古の国である。

神武天皇が紀元前６６０年に即位して以来、2670余年続いている。

天皇制がかくも長きにわたり続いて来たのは、「権力」とは距離を置き、権力の交代や時代の変遷はあるが、権力に正統性を与える「権威」として存在してきたことが大きいのだろう。

しかし、時と共に「権力」は必ず腐敗・専横化する。

その最たるものが、陸軍参謀や朝日新聞であった。　

内外の情勢分析も不十分なまま、陸軍と朝日新聞が当てのない戦争に国民を巻き込んで行ったが、戦争を終わらすための苦労は大変なものであった。

1945（昭和20）年８月、昭和天皇の二度にわたる「ご聖断」により、漸く終戦を迎えることが出来た。

しかし驚くことに、実録や独白録によると、終戦に至る道のりは「戦争継続勢力」の強い抵抗により、極めて緊迫した薄氷を踏むような事件の連続の中での昭和天皇による終戦「断行」たった。

何度か言及して来た日本有数の読書家と言っても全く過言ではない友人が、最近、極めて読み応えのある良書を数冊読んでいるらしい。一冊は毛沢東に関する二部に渡る分厚い本らしい。友人は極めて規則的な生活を送っている人間で、例えば出社時間の正確さなどはカント並である。その友人が、あまりの面白さに、ついつい夜更かしをしてしまうほどの読み応えだと言うのである。長い付き合いの私は、それはただ事ではないなとは思っていた。

今日、その中の一冊を、面白いからと言って貸してくれた。

私は、ケント・ギルバートさんと呉善花さんの見事な対談集を一刻も早く、世界中の人に知らしめたいと思い、一日中、英訳に頑張って疲れていたので、遠慮しようとしたら、それでは持ち帰ります。まだ、少し、読み残しているから、と言うので、慌てて、いや、借りておくことにしたのである。

さっき、ページを開いた途端に、驚天動地の心地がした。

まえがきにして、以下なのだから。

目から鱗が落ちもした。

見事に私の論説の正しさを実証している様な驚天動地の本である。

この著者もまた、市井にこそ、真の賢者が存在している事の代表者の様な人である。

2014（平成26）年９月９日、『昭和天皇実録』（以下、実録）の編纂が完了し、宮内庁から宮内記者会（宮内庁記者クラブ）所属メディアに公表された。

15（平成27）年には、一般向けに市販される出版社が決まり、５ヵ年程度の歳月をかけて順次、公刊されることになった。　

61巻・１万2000頁に及ぶ大著。

『明治天皇実録』『大正天皇実録』に続く『昭和天皇実録』は、初めての口語体となった。全冊出版完了までは、事前に公開を受けた宮内記者会所属メディアの纉道を中心とした内容杷握とならざるを得ないが、64年の長きに亘る「治世」は世界でも極めて稀で、編年体史（年月の順を追って事実を記していく手法）を基本にした史実の「読み解き方」は百人百様だろう。

時間も掛かるが楽しみでもある。　

15年は終戦70周年の記念すべき年にあたり、昭和史の「掘り下げ」が様々な機会で深まって行くものと期待される。

文藝春秋が、20年前の1995（平成７）年７月に出版した『昭和天皇独白録』（編著者一寺崎英成/マリコ・テラサキーミラー。以下、独白録）や『入江相政日記』などの侍従日記・側近日誌も実録に引用されている。　

実録は昭和天皇の心の中には極力立ち入ろうとせず、事実を淡々と記述している。

その点を踏まえると、独白録の方が昭和天皇の率直な発言や息づかいが感じられる。

実録・独白録・侍従日記・側近日誌等を合わせ読みながら天皇のご心中を読み解き、「激動の昭和史」解明が進むことを期待したい。
