Our town amalgamated with other city and town today.Fifty-three years' history of our town ended yesterday.
Last summer, we voted to show our will about the union with another city and town.
The majorities of those who voted were against the union.
But our mayor wanted to unite eagerly, so he resigned and ran for the mayor again.
He won and his wish came true at last.
I am a member of the city from today.
I don't know whether it is good or bad.

The name of our town remained but the town office was changed from a main office of the town to a branch one of the city.
And my address changed like this.

ついにＸデーはやってきましたね。
大きな市の片隅の一つの町になってしまった我が町ですが、今後どのようになるのでしょうね。
