Yamaha Motor Co.'s headquarters in Iwata,Shizuoka,and other locations were raided by police Jan.23 on suspicion the company attempted an unauthorized export to China of an unmanned helicopter that could be converted for military use.
読みなれていないと戸惑うかも知れない点は：
① to China の語順が変えられている。本来は、
an unauthorized export of an unmanned helicopter that could be converted for military use to China
です。export to China の関係も当然ある。離れすぎるとわからなくなるので、前に 持ってきたわけです。ただそれだけ、こうした語順変化はいたるところであるが、その 理由は合理的である。
②言葉が省略：
・on Jan.23の on 省略されている。確かonはいると覚えているのだな？それで正解、それのほうがきっと本来。振り回されるな、です。
・on suspitionのあとにthat が省略。名詞節を作るthat を省略。
(helicopterの後のthat は関係代名詞）
