安倍首相の目指す国家像は、ある程度はっきりしてきた。だが、それを具体化するための方策は、まだまだこれからということのようだ。
The image of the sate which Prime Minister Shinzo Abe intends to pursue, to some extent, has com to be clear. But the concrete methods and measures by which the idea would be realized have yet to become clear.
(The first policy speech given by Prime Minister Shinzo abe has clarified what kind of shape he wants to see this country take.However,the nation's new leader seems unclear about what he will do to accomplish the goals stipulated in his address.)

首相は所信表明演説で、「美しい国づくり」を目指す考えを強調した。
The prime minister stressed in his first policy address ,as a prime minister in the Diet ,yesterday, on September 29, his government's intention to make this country a beautiful one.
( On Friday, Abe delivered his inaugural key policy speech before both houses of the Diet,emphasizing his efforts to transporm Japan into "a beautiful nation.")
小泉前首相の「聖域なき構造改革」のように、「美しい国づくり」を政権のキーワードにしたいのだろう。
It appears that he wants to make the word of " making a beaytiful country" a key-word for his administration, like the phrase of " structural reforms without sanctuary" in the time of the former prime minister Junichiro Koizumi.
(The policy address suggests Abe will use "building a beautiful country" as a pet slogan during his term in office, much in the way that his predecessor,Junichiro Koizumi,championed "structural reforms without sacred cows.")

KDDI Corporation has basically reached an agreement with TEPCO( Tokyo Electric Power Company,Incorporated) to buy out the optical communication business from TEPCO next January at the cost of slightly more than 100 billion yen. This means,in effect, Tepco's withdrawal from the business.

In his first polcy pledge in the Diet as a prime minister, Abe clearly expressed his wish to make a lon-term startegy for pumping up the natinal economy through technological innovation.He also stressed that his administration will intensify implementing the measures for the national budget(ary) spending cut.

As new members of the Council of Ecomomic and Fiscal Management Policy in the government,four persons from the private sector,including Fujio Mitarai,President of Japan Fedaration of Ecomonic Organizations, and Uichiro Niwa, Chairman of ITOCHU Corporatio,were unoffically decided, in order to pursue reforms.

Hyogo national athletic meet: they have made a step forward toward a new style.

時代の変化に応じて、新たな国体像を目指す一歩である。日本体育協会が３年前に定めた国体改革のスタートとなる兵庫国体が３０日、開幕する。
Responding to the times change, they have made a step forward toward a new national athletic meet.Hyogo athletic meet,showing the national athletic meet's reform decided three years ago by the Japan Athletic Association, will start on September 30.

According to a data for the first half of this fiscal year,in domestic stock market buying attitude among investors has been conspicuous. This reflects the fact that Japanese economy has been coming out of deflation. By industry, banks are brisk after a 10-year interval because they almost have disposed the so-called mutually-held-stock-holding practice. And ,on average, companies have reached a record high in buying their-own-company stocks.

Stock prices in New York Stock Exchange have marked a record high, with the Dow Jones industrial 30 stock average temporarily reaching 11,724 dollars.

According to a survey conducted by The Nihon Keizai Shimbun asking 100 company presidents, 90 % of respondents said " economy is expanding now.' The ratio of respondents replying " The pace of economic expansion has been declining" has doubled to be about 20 percent. As to the issues to be solved by Abe administration, most of them pointed the issues in the fields of finance, deregulation ,and diplomacy.

With regard to the secret fund scandal, Gifu Prefecture announced that 4,421 people of the staff,which is 57% of all the prefectural regular employees,were disciplined. Among them, four were dismissed.

voice" on to which company public works ordered by the prefecture should be committed,was arrested by the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office's special investigative team on suspicion of violating competitive bids. He took the blame for it.
(Sato took responsibility for the arrest of his brother Monday by the special investigation squad of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office on suspecion of bid-rigging by prearranging the bids contractors placed for public works projects ordered by the prefecture.)
