暫定税率　つなぎ法案取り下げ　与野党一転合意「年度内に結論」　
Regarding the issue of gasolin and road-related temporary tax rates,the ruling and opposition parties reached an agreement on Wednesday to get a ceratin onclusion within this fiscal year under the mediation of both the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the House of Councillors.After the consensus, the ruling parties withheld the stopgap bill for maintaining the current tax rates beyond its expiration at the end of March from the Diet agenda.

The ruling parties submitted on the evening of January 29th to the House of Representatives of the Diet a stopgap bill for maintaining the current temporary tax rates of oils ,such as volitile oil tax rate, which is to expire at the end of March,which is aimed at extending the current rates until the end of May. This was taken soon after the ruling block's consultation with Democratic Party of Japan on the issue had failed to reach a consensus.The opposition parties are resisting this movement and there is a possibility that the Diet deliberations would stall.

According to sources,Victor Company of Japan,Ltd. and Funai Electric Co.,Ltd will have an alliance in the flat panel TV business,supplying each other with their each products and embarking on a joint development activity.As Victor has already decided to have a management integration with Kenwood,then,from now on,people concerned say that it is further eyeing a capital alliance with Funai.In the field of the flat panel TVs,where a pierce competition has been going on, a series of alliances and realignment of the business among big companies have been seen. But the move this time is the one between midsized companies, and will surely accelerate the move of the industry's realignment,involving big and medium-size companies.

When a local government has set up a public corporation or participates in the third-party entity's management and their managements have proceeded badly,the government usually issues the guarantee for their debts and ,in some cases, compensates for their losses. These virtual burden is called "the hidden debts " of municipalities. According to the Internal Communications Ministry's data as the end of March 2007,it is learned that in some municipalities these kinds of burdens are weighing on them.In 11 local governments ,including Owani-cho,Aomori prefecture and Yubari city, Hokkaido,this kind of hidden debt exceeds their each benchmark index of the standard financial size indicating each municipality's finace healthiness.If the municipality is asked to take over such a debt,there is a possibility that the services for the residents would be deteriorated.

Japanese manufacturers in the industries of automibile and machinery are thinking to hire a large number of engineers in the developing countries in Asia.Specifically, Nissan has a paln to newly employ about four thousand people over the next three years in india and Vietnam,enhancing the ratio of engineers staying overseas to some 40 percent,which would be double the current ratio.Toyo Engineering has already increased the staff of design in India by 1,000 people. Amid the shortage of the employees due to the retirement of the so-called baby-boomers and declining birth rate in Japan,these companies are aiming at taking advanatge of the abundant human resources in these developing countries in Asia.Like this, globalization of employment likely will get momentum.
