This is 'a-bu-chi-ro-n'.

According to the column of 'Hana Oriori' in Asahi Shinbun ,on Jluy 31,Saturday, this name comes from Greek.

'A' means no or stop, and 'butiron' means diarrhea of ox.

As they used a kind of them to use stopping diarrhea of domestic animal, it was named like this.

Persimmon

We have three persimmon trees.
Two of them are sweet and the other is astringent.

Though we eat the sweet ones more, we also eat the astringent ones.
Drying the latter ones , they become so sweet.

The taste of each persimmon is a little different.

The Olympic games

This flower is 'rose mallow'.
In Japanese we call it 'fu-yo'.


At last, the Olympic games began before the opening ceremony.

I watched a soccer game by 'Nadeshiko Japan' yesterday at midnight. I became sleepy so I only watched half of it.
I knew they had won the game against strong Sweeden team this morning.

I have seen a soccer game by them once on T.V. It was a wonderful one and I was looking forward to watching them in Olympic games too.

Fig now

There are a few figs in the yard behind my house.
The fruits of the tree is green and hard now.
They will ripen and become sweet before long.

My mother who has been dead for five years liked them very much.
They remind me of my mother.

Nap

There was a terrible accident in Mihama, Fukui Prefecture yesterday.
It is said that four people died and some people were seriously hurt by the explosion of a pipe at an atomic power plant.
It must be caused by men.

Meanwhile there is a peaceful scene like this.

Obon

Japanese traditional event,'OBON' is in the middle of August.

It is one of the Japanese two big events.
The other is 'NEW YEAR'.
These are very important to Japanese people.

This morning, a priest came to pray for our ancesters.
It is called 'ta-na-gyo-u' in Japanese and he goes to many houses one after another.

This is our main computer.

As the display is a liquid crystal, the picture is more beautiful than the other.

Professional

Our second computer would not work for these three weeks.
Today my nephew working for the system company visited us.
He made it work without difficulty because it hadn't broken down.
He is a professional！
Thanks to him, I can spend a comfortable computer life again.

It's very hot but the stock today is very very cold.

Yuki

The right ear of this cat was hurt by the fight with the homeless cat around my house about two weeks ago.
It had festerd and smelled badly. And she didn't eat very much.
So I gave her an antibiotics which I got at a veterinarian.
It might work well or she might have the strength, she managed to recover from the hurt. Now she is fine.
This time ,it took about two weeks for her to get well.

After rain

A snail was on the wall.
Though I don't usually see many snails in this season, it apperaed after rain.

Typhoon No.10

Typhoon No.10 brought much rain and strong wind.
It is in the 'Japan Sea' now .
The power and the size become much weaker and smaller. This is the cloud of it at about 11:30. a.m.
Farmers are delghited to have water because the field was dry and the vegitables almost withered.
Now they come back to life.
