According to sources,domestic cellular phone handset manufacturers likely will advance to overseas markets again. Specifically, NEC and Panasonic will start in 2010 to sell in overseas markets versatile handsets with camera and music-reproducing function. Sharp Corporation, which has already advanced to Chinese market, will also expand its overseas business. Amid the situation that the domestic market has been shrinking, they are making efforts in exploiting overseas markets to survive.

In these circumstances, there will be a growing tendency to review the so-called "summit scheme," which has been bolstering the international cooperation framework after the end of the Cold War.
