Leaders from the Group of Eight nations meeting(the L'Aquila summit) hold on July 7 expanded meeting which includes developing countries such as China and India, as well as eight major industrial coutries.Following the expanded meeting,summit meeting of Major Economies Forum consisting of 17 major greenhouse gases emission countries is to be held.

In terms of global warming focal point agendum at the meeting, they will discuss the goal of reducing the gases emission to half by the year of 2050,it is likely to be difficult for developing countries to agree to it.

In terms of world trade liberalization,they are making a final adjustment to confirm that the Doha Round talks in the WTO should be finished until the end of 2010.

製造業赤字縮小相次ぐ　新興国需要や合理化効果　４～６月　東芝やホンダ、計画上回る改善　先行き見通しは慎重

There have been an increasing number of companies among domestic major manufacturers which have diminished their deficits in their business performances in the period from April through June compared with the period from January through March.Specifically, Toshiba likely decreased its deficit from 74 billion yen to smaller than 50 billion yen. Other companies in the electric machinery industry also seems to have improved their performances. In the automobiole industry also, there is a possibility that the top three makers reduced their deficits of 1.2 trillion yen in total by the level of several hundreds of billion yen.
These results are thought to be due to the recovery of demand in developing countries and companies' rationalizing efforts.

Ansewring the question why these results come, officials of Toshiba and Honda both replied that they could reach improvement earlier than they had planned.

But in terms of the future prospects, there are still many who think it is a long way to get on the full recovery.
