アメリカ火星協会の22回年会が終わりました。
私は、ラグビーの応援やらいろいろ有って、まだ十分に見てませんが、例年に増して内容の濃い、充実した年会でした！

火星で静かに活躍中のInSightには、下記の3つの機器が搭載されています。
1)SEIS(地震計)：火星内部活動の震動および他の活動の正確な測定。
製造担当：CNES（the French Space Agency ）、IPGP（the participation of the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris)、ETH（the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology)、MPS（the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research), Imperial College、JPL
2)HP3(熱流量プローブ)：惑星の進化の代表的指標の温度測定。
製造担当：DLR（the German Space Agency)
3)RISE(位置情報)：太陽引力による火星軌道のゆれや地球との位置変動の測定によって火星内部構造の測定。
製造担当：JPL
SEIS(地震計)とRISE(位置情報)は、着々と成果を上げています。
が、、、HP3(熱流量プローブ)は、未だにセンサー"the mole,"の設置に手こずっています！！
"the mole,"を地下5mまで打ち込む計画ですが、現時点で35cmしか打ち込めていないとのことです。
理由は、"the mole,"を打ち込む場所の地質条件が打ち込むための前提条件と異なっていたためでした！
"the mole,"を打ち込むためには、打ち込んだ場所の土から圧迫される力を利用する必要があるのです。
その土との摩擦力で"the mole,"は、下へ下へと打ち込むことが出来るということです。
ところが、地表面から5～10cmにduricrustという土壌の表面または表面近くの硬い層が有ったためだそうです。
この固い層は、"the mole,"を打ち込めないほどの固さではないものの、崩れやすいため"the mole,"が必要とする摩擦力が得られていないという訳です。
今、火星で"the mole,"が頼りにできるのは、InSightのロボットアームだけです。でも、地球で多くの科学者が知恵を絞っています。
①アームで空いた穴を土で埋める ②アームで"the mole,"を土に押し付ける 等々いろいろなアイデアが試されています。
アームだけに、「腕の見せ所」ですね！
近いうちに朗報が聞けることを期待してます！！！

ロシアがいよいよ動き出しているようです。
Anastasiaさんの「月日記」を読むと、現在、モスクワのIBMP (the Institute of Biomedical Problems)で月着陸を想定した閉鎖実験が行われています。
ミッション名は、‘SIRIUS’ (Scientific International Research In Unique terrestrial Station)となっています。
約4ｹ月の閉鎖実験のようです。
参加メンバー：IBMPとNASAヒューマンリサーチプログラムの共同プロジェクトで、ドイツ、フランス、イタリアのパートナーが参加しています。
なんと！！！！ロシアとアメリカの協力関係が宇宙分野で・・・
目的：隔離に関連し、限られたスペースに制限される問題を研究するために、長期的な人間の宇宙飛行をモデル化することを目的として行われます。
月面への船外活動も行われていますね！
二人の宇宙飛行士がアポロ11号のニール・アームストロングとバズ・アルドリンの役割を引き受けてシュミレーションしたそうです。

IBMPの様子もリニューアルされていてMARS500の時より写真が多くて楽しいです。
MARS500後の計画で男女混合のチームで行うことが下記の通り発表されていましたが、ロシア情報が掴みにくく気が付きませんでした。
下記の記事にある閉鎖実験スケジュールからすると、当初の「2017年 4ｹ月閉鎖実験」に当たるのでしょうか？

2016年から2017年 ： 14日間の実験を2回
2017年 ： 4ケ月の実験
2018年 ： 8ケ月の実験
2019年から2020年 ： 12ケ月の実験
MARS500が懐かしいです！！
MARS500は、Anastasiaさんいる同じ場所、モスクワのIBMPで2010年6月3日から2011年11月4日までの520日間、男性6人で実施された閉鎖実験のことです。
