the Journal of Cosmologyの火星特別版は、米火星協会のかかわりで作られたとのことが10月20日のMars Society Newsletterで「Special Mars Issue of the Journal of Cosmology, Now online」という題で紹介されていました。
特別版の題名は、"Colonizing Mars - The Human Mission to the Red Planet"となっています。
この中のⅢ章に「To Boldly Go: A One-Way Human Mission to Mars」が入ってました。

内容は、以下のとおり盛りだくさんです。
とても読みきれないですが、セックスについて興味があったので少し読んでみたところ、火星へ行く場合、男女別々の宇宙船で行くべきだという記述がありました。
結構、保守的な印象ですが、宗教的な背景でしょうか?
また、火星協会の記事では、XII. Terraforming Mars が省略されていましたが、なぜでしょうかね。
世間では、「To Boldly Go: A One-Way Human Mission to Mars」に否定的意見が多いですが、嫌がる人を島流しにするというようなことではないと思います。
10月30日のブログでも書きましたが、ヨーロッパからアメリカに移民した人や日本からブラジルに移民した人たちも片道切符覚悟で行ったのではないでしょうか。
火星への冒険には、多くの冒険家がチャレンジすることを希望して売り込みを図ることになると思います。
火星への第一歩は誰が踏むのか?どこの国の人でしょうか?
現時点だと、アメリカ人かロシア人が有力ですが、日本人だって挽回のチャンスはあります。
