サマー・イン・ザ・シティ

　今日は、先日受けた大腸内視鏡検査時に切除したポリープの生検の結果を聞きに新町の病院へ。バスで行ったが、バス待ちやバス停と病院間の歩きの暑さには参った。テレビで盛んに「今日は命に危険を及ぼす猛暑」と言っていたことを実感する。ふと、学生時代に流行ったラビン・スプーンフルの「サマー・イン・ザ・シティ」のメロディが頭の中でグルグル回り始めた。行き交う人々も暑さにゲンナリという感じ。まさに歌詞の中の
「all around people looking half dead」だなと苦笑。
