米国で確定申告の提出期限にあたる15日、バラク・オバマ（Barack
Obama）米大統領の経済政策などに抗議する共和党支持者らが、英国の
植民地税に反発して起こった1773年の「ボストン茶会事件（Boston Tea
Party）」にちなんだ抗議集会を全米各地で開いた。
人びとは、ティーバッグやアイスティーなどお茶に関連する物を手に、
オバマ政権の税政策や金融機関などの救済策、歳出が大幅増となった予算案
などに抗議した。主催者側によると、全米の約800か所で同様の集会が
行われるという。

events, manufactured by the usual suspects. In particular, a key role
is being played by FreedomWorks, an organization run by Richard
Armey, the former House majority leader, and supported by the usual
group of right-wing billionaires. And the parties are, of course, being
promoted heavily by Fox News.
