アジアに６７０億ドル援助　第１５回「アジアの未来」　麻生首相　メコン流域開発　年内に首脳会談

On Thursday Prime Minister Taro Aso made a speech at the dinner party for the 15th international exchange conference " Asia's Future" sponsored by The Nihon Keizai Shimbun. He said there that Japan will take every possible measure with an eye to helping each Asian country double its GDP by the year of 2020.Specifically, he said that the country will provide the necessary aid of as much as 67 billion dollars in the forms of ODA and trade insurances. Another idea revealed by Aso is that Japan will first host the summit meeting between Japan and the five countries in the basin of the Mekong in Japan within the year in order to deliberate on the development of the Mekon Basin.

Masaoka Shiki's words

After landing on the Continent, he stayed in Zinzhou for about a month. During his stay there, he met with Mori Ohgai, already known to the public as a novelist. According to a record,Shiki first visited Mori Ohgai at his house on May 4. Ohgai was then there serving as Medical Director of the Army. After the first visit, Shiki went to the Ohgai’s house every day to talk about literature. It lasted through May 10, when Shiki left Zinzhou. It was on May 15 when Sadokuni-maru,the ship Shiki boarded on his way back to Japan, left a port on the Continent.
The ship was old and dirty. The service he received was terribly bad. Such things were written in his diary. It was on the morning of May 17 when he coughed up a large volume of blood on the ship. Unfortunately, because a soldier died of cholera in the ship, the ship was ordered to stop moving for a week off the coast. Due to such circumstances, only on May 23 did he get off the ship at Cape Wada, and was he admitted to enter Kobe Hospital. His condition that time was so serious. I recognize it from the objective evidences such as the medical treatments he received. On May 28 his family members were called to the hospital, as doctors said there might be a worst scenario on his life.

上陸後は金州(きんしゅう)の地で約１ヶ月滞在しているが、その間当地で森(もり)鴎外(おうがい)とも会っている。第２軍兵站(へいたん)軍医部長として彼の地にいた森鴎外の宅を５月４日に訪ね、５月１０日に金州を去るまで毎日訪ねて文学談義を交えたと記録にある。帰りの船佐渡(さど)国(くに)丸(まる)が出港したのは５月１５日である。
船は老朽で汚く、待遇劣悪と記されている。子規が船中で喀血(かっけつ)したのは５月１７日の朝だった。あいにくその船中で１人の軍人がコレラで死亡したため、船は途中１週間の停船処置をうけた。そんな事情もあって、子規が和田岬で船を下りて神戸病院に入院できたのは５月２３日とかなり遅くなっている。このときの病状がかなり深刻なものであったということはその後の治療状況等の客観的事実からしてわかることである。
５月２８日には、医師から万一の事があるやもしれぬと言われ、家族が呼ばれている。
