Geiger counter
I would rather go out than sitting in front of my computer in the morning since I tend to keep working and forget about the time passing.
In the afternoon, at last I went out to receive a Geiger counter from Aiba-kun, which HISEN WO ERABU ENGEKI JIN NO KAI (Theater people who determine no more war) purchased. On the table, on the third floor of MacDonald at the south exit of Shimokitazawa station, the place is exposed to an estimated 0.08 micro sieverts of radiation. The device can measure both beta dose and gamma dose. This time, shutting out the beta-ray by using aluminum board and measured only gamma-ray.
In total, it will be accumulated to 700 micro sieverts after one year. Cesium gives off both gamma-ray and beta-ray and sometimes, the dose becomes extremely high, removing the aluminum board and two rays are mixed up. Many people advised me to read the explanation carefully and it's true that very complicated notifications are appeared on the device. However, I can say that the device is simple since the results can be seen instantly. Some say that we should not believe the results by these kinds of devices. Even so, admitting that the results have a margin of error, it is suitable to check the radiation level at the same place on a regular basis.
One more thing to be careful is that the device should be in a ziplock or a plastic bag, lest radiative materials should put on the device accidentally. It is available for 10 hours using two triple A batteries ( if you use a GPS location service, available only for three hours). Later on the day, 0.14 micro sieverts / h was measured around a black flat stone at Nezu shrine, which is famous in the novel written by Soseki Natsume. At the parking area in front of some station of Inokashira line, the measured dose was 0.10 micro sieverts/ h. Around my house, it was 0.09 micro sieverts / h. At the inside of my house, it was 0.07-0.08 <x-apple-data-detectors://0> micro sieverts/ h, which is lower a little compared with the outside. My son woke up by the sound of the machine and I told him what it was. He said, "I knew it". If it was one year ago, I never knew that I came to check the radiation dose by using such a device.
