In Britain, Bank of England reduced its policy interest rate by unusual 1.5% to 3.0% a year,which is the lowest level in almost half a century since 1955.European Central Bank and Swiss National Bank reduced their policy rates by 0.5% to 3.25% a year and to 1.5-2.5% a year, respectively.These were done in order to bolster the currently declining economy,which has been resulted from the shrinked financial market triggered by U.S. financial crisis.
