　オーストラリア。コロナウィルス流行対策で、ヴィクトリア州に1300名ほど軍部隊を派遣。33名の感染が発覚したため、ローラー作戦をしよう、というもの。

This comes after Victoria has seen a spike in Covid-19 cases in recent days, with 33 infections reported overnight.」

　そのほか、カンタスが6000名ほど馘首する意向だとか。

　これは同社の労働力の1/5ほどに相当するとか。3月にその80％の労働者にfurlough、一時解雇をしてなおこれ。

「Qantas will axe 6,000 jobs as part of its plans to survive the coronavirus pandemic, the airline says.

The cuts equate to about a fifth of the airline's workforce prior to the Covid-19 crisis. In March, it furloughed more than 80% of its staff.」

「"But the collapse in billions of dollars in revenue leaves us little choice if we are to save as many jobs as possible, long term."」

　ともかく最大量の雇用をできるだけ長くなんとか維持するために、これ、しょうがないんだよ！　という見解。既にタイ航空が破綻してるし、大企業の横暴と片づけるには厳しすぎるだろう。

　…国内線の需要は一定程度回復している模様だが、国際線の需要が全面的に逝っちゃってますからねー。政府としても、国外との連絡は来年まで閉鎖状態になるよなーという見込みの様子。

　…海外旅行でバカンス！という文化でここ数十年、生きてきたわけだけど。どうもそういう雰囲気がほとんど消滅したというか、消滅せざるをえないというか。いや、隙あらばバカンス！と言う人々はなお強固に存在してはいるようだが―エコノミー席をぎゅうぎゅうに詰め込んで、という世界は、あるいは遠いものになっちゃうのかもなあ。
