The dream came true!
I had wonderful guests from Qatar at Umegashima this week. لسلام عليكم
It was my dream to have them here and show them the beauty of Umegashima, and to start the relationship between Qater and Japan = Umegashima.
They got a bonus to experience the tea tasting and tea factory tour at the tea marchant in Shizuoka city. We realized how excellent the Kakurecha is even compare to the tea which gained the first price twice in the past.
When I see the weather focust telling that 26th and 27th would be rainy, I was so upset. Why does it have to be rainy for my friends coming here all the way by 11hours flight?
Thanks God, both days were fairly fine and they enjoyed walking where the Abe river starts and Abe water fall. We picked green tea leaves at Kakurecha green tea garden, although the rain started dropping in the late afternoon.
Next day they visited Umegashima elementary school & secondary school and have met wonderful teachers and students. Hope this kind activity will happen again next year.
The dinner at Kusagiri inn was prepared with Halai meat for Musulim. It was so delicious!

It was full of green tea related activities in 3 days and had lot of cups of green tea every day. I wish everyone in Qatar drinks green tea daily as those ladies so that people will not get high blood pressure or diabetes or metabolic easily. Stay healty and stay young with green tea^^)
カタールからの友人たちが梅ヶ島にお越し!女性の旅行は日本では考えられないほどハードルが高い回教の国カタール。どんな苦労をされて来日したことか。。。感謝～♪
そんな熱意が通じてか心配した天候も雨予報を大きく外れて「晴れ！」
「安倍川源流」「安倍の大滝」をトレッキング。
五葉つつじ・シロヤシロの開花時期がぴったりと合って美しい白い花々を見ることもできました。
さて、いよいよお楽しみの「茶摘み！」残念ながら雨が降り始めてしまいましたが、気分は「茶摘み娘～＾＾）」
摘んだ葉で「ホットプレート手揉み茶」をつくり、お茶の草木染めストールをつくりお茶尽くしの一日。
梅ヶ島小学校・梅ヶ島中学校も訪問させていただき、日本の学校や授業風景を見学させていただきました。突然の訪問にも対応いただきありがとうございました。今後もぜひ継続して日本・カタールの交流を深めていけたらと願っています。

カタールでは糖尿病・高血圧・肥満が国民病。静岡との交流が盛んになって、毎日緑茶を飲む習慣を取り入れて健康になって欲しいものです。
