スーチー「ジャーナリストだから処罰したわけじゃないんだ」

　言ってくれるぜスーチー姐さん：

　先日問題となった、ジャーナリストに収監刑を宣告した件は、報道・意見表明の自由とはかかわりのないことである、と：

「Aung San Suu Kyi said their conviction had "nothing to do with freedom of expression at all"」

「She suggested that many critics had not actually read the verdict, saying: "They were not jailed because they were journalists, they were jailed because... the court has decided that they have broken the Official Secrets Act."」

　そりゃまあ、国家機密を手にするジャーナリストをどうにかする権利か必要かは、国家の保安上、そりゃまああるにはあろうね。手にして五分後に逮捕だなんて囮捜査も、うんまあ、うんその。だがその国家機密と言うのが、国軍の一般人虐殺の証拠とかというのはまあ、うん、その。

　しかもInn Din村事件は報道済みで、なんぼなんでもということで国軍さえ何人かの「責任者」を差し出すほどのものであって、ひどい言い方をすれば、”当たり障りのない”写真の数枚・書類のコピーとかで「つれた」ものであるはずで…。

　…非常に効率のよいジャーナリスト潰しであり、基本的には禁じ手だろう。

「The Nobel Peace Prize laureate - who is Myanmar's de facto leader - had been under intense pressure to comment on both the Rohingya crisis and more recently the journalists, following their jailing last week.」

「The two Myanmar nationals had been arrested while carrying official documents which had just been given to them by police officers in a restaurant.」

　この手法も問題なんだが、スーチーはあえて見ないことにしているようだ。

「They said they were set up by police, a claim backed by a police witness in the trial.」

　…合法的で、かつ倫理的に正当な行動だと信じているっぽいのである。

　Insein刑務所について「"Insane" is how the jail is pronounced, and for many in the press, it reflects a chaotic legal farce which has played out over the past nine months - one that's culminated in two young journalists being found to have been useful to "enemies of the state" and handed a seven year prison sentence.」。

　スーチーについて、逮捕されたジャーナリスト氏の奥さん曰く「"I loved and respected her so much," Pan Ei Mon said. "But she said our husbands were not reporters because they violated the nation's secrets, and I am very devastated by that."」

　この”忠誠心”が続く限りはスーチーはある意味で安泰。但し

「Many wonder who will be next.」

　とまあ、暗黒政治までカウントダウン状態。
