Some 450 more people were injured by scorpion stings, a health ministry official said.
The hail and thunder storm in the area near the River Nile on Friday was particularly violent.
Scorpions are regularly washed into the streets by heavy rain, while snakes have also been disturbed.」

「The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, is travelling to Kenya for talks about the war in Ethiopia, as well as the security situation in Sudan and Somalia.
President Uhuru Kenyatta recently visited Ethiopia and the US has warned it could impose sanctions on the Ethiopian government and the rebels in Tigray region.
Mr Blinken will continue his first official trip to Africa in Nigeria where he's due to meet President Muhammadu Buhari.
During his stay in the capital, Abuja, he is expected to announce a new US-Africa policy.」

Mr Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria, has recently returned from Ethiopia where he held talks with the federal authorities and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) who have been at war with each other for more than a year.」
