Toyota Motor Corporation likely will build a new plant in the south India with a investment of 40 to 50 billion yen. The production is scheduled to begin at around 2010 with the capacity of the 100,000-unit per year level for low-priced vehicles.

Raising the employees' starting salaries has recently been spread among industries.Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is to raise the starting salary for new graduates entering the company in April for the first time in 7 years. Also,Canon will follow suit after a 4-year interval.Like this, many companies in the general and precision machinery industries are going to raise wages,competing with electronics makers for getting good human resouces.
