KDDI 中部電の光通信 買収 ５００億円規模 ＮＴＴに対抗 電力勢取り込み 全国網整備 急ぐ
According to sources, KDDI Corporation has reached a basic agreement with Chubu Electric Power Co.,Inc. that it will acquire the optical fiber communications business of Chubu Electric Power. The deal is estimated to be a littel bit less than 50 billion yen level.After the deal, KDDI enhances its optical network customers by 15% to around 800,000,ensuring some 8 % share in the domestic market.Last January it took over Tokyo Electric Power's optical communications business.KDDI is expected to accelerate its alliance or acquisition deals with other power companies, and build up an optical communication network for households across the country, which will be coping with the NTT's network currently having 70 % domestic share.
