This is an acronym for sardins, mackerel, anchovies, salmon and herring (SMASH). These fatty fish are your best sources of heart-healthy omega-3s (known to reduce inflammation, heart rhythm disturbances, triglyceride levels, and blood pressure). They are also less likely to be contaminated with toxins because toxins become concentrated in older and larger fish.
