From Monday, only US citizens and residents will be allowed to travel from the region.

「The Omicron variant was first reported to the WHO from South Africa on 24 November, and has since been identified in other countries.」
「The WHO says so far fewer than 100 sample sequences have been reported. Cases have mainly been confirmed in South Africa, but have also been detected in Hong Kong, Israel, Botswana and Belgium.」

感染力についてはなかなか懸念すべきかもしれない。600人が乗った飛行機で61名、ポジティブだとか。機内での感染は―ほぼ考えずによいとしても（乗る前だろう、基本的に）、無症状状態だろう人々の中にこの数である。

「Sixty-one people who arrived in Amsterdam on two flights from South Africa have tested positive for Covid-19, Dutch officials say.
They have been placed in isolation at a hotel near Schiphol airport.
They were among some 600 passengers held for several hours after arrival while they were tested for the virus.」

すでに疑い例はドイツ、チェコでまであるようで。…まあ、時間の問題ですね。
…数週間ほどあればリスク評価もできるでしょうが、さてどのくらいのものだろう。
