An important sense of value:

「人間として正しいことを追求する」ということは、どのような状況に置かれようと、公正、公平、正義、努力、勇気、博愛、謙虚、誠実というような言葉で表現できるものを最も大切な価値観として尊重し、それに基づき行動しようというものです。
What does it mean by " to pursue the right thing as a human?" I think it means no matter what kind of situation you may be in, you should respect as the most important sense of value what could be expressed by the words, like, justice, fairness, righteousness, efforts, courage, philanthropy, modesty, and honesty, and your behavior should be based on them.
