Conditions for a good job:

二つには、「理屈より経験を大切にすること」。
The second is you should pay more attention to experiences than to theories.
ものづくりでは、教科書を読むと、こうやればいいと書いてあります。理論的にはそのとおりなのですが、実際にはそう簡単ではありません。
In manufacturing part, you can read how to do in a textbook. It would be good in theory, but actually it would not be so easy in practice.
現場で実際に手を汚し、試行錯誤を繰り返してみないと分からないことのほうが多いもので、理論と経験則がかみ合ってこそ、素晴らしい技術開発が可能になるのです。
There are more many things that you could understand only after making a lot of trials and errors in the field. So, only with theory and experience combined, would a great technological development be possible.

If you are afraid of making some mistake and then repeat the same things day after day, there is no progress. You should be afraid rather of your life without any originality than of your possible mistake. (originality and ingenuity )
