成功という試練
A trial of success:

私は、「試練」とは、一般的にいわれる苦難のことだけを指すのではないと考えています。人間にとって、成功さえも試練なのです。
I don't think trials mean only generally-said sufferings. For humans, even a success may be a trial.
成功した結果、地位に驕り、名声に酔い、財におぼれ、努力を怠るようになっていくのか、それとも成功を糧に、さらに気高い目標を掲げ、謙虚に努力を重ねていくのかによって、その後の人生は、天と地ほどにしまうのです。つまり、天は成功という「試練」を人に与えることによって、その人を試しているのです。
After reaching a success, whether you would be puffed up with the success, intoxicated with the fame, wallow in wealth, and become reluctant to make efforts, or you would keep on your efforts modestly, with a more prestigious goal set up, based on the success. Your life after that will differ entirely heaven and earth, depending on that condition. It means heaven will give you a test trough a success.

Human's mind is flexible and can get big or small juts like a magic stick of the Monkey King. The point is how you set your mind.
