素直な心②
An obedient mind:
素直な心とは、自分自身のいたらなさを認め、そこから努力を始めるという謙虚な姿勢のことです。
An obedient mind is a modest attitude of yours that you recognize your weakness and make efforts to conquer it.
とかく能力のある人ほど、人の意見を聞かず、たとえ聞いても反発するものです。しかし本当に伸びる人は、素直な心を持って人の意見をよく聞き、常に反省し、自分自身を見つめることのできる人です。
As is often the case, a capable person has a tendency not to listen to others, or to be odds with them although listening to them. But a person who makes progress will listen to others carefully with an obedient mind, always reflect on himself, and regard himself calmly.
自分にとって耳の痛い言葉こそ、自分を伸ばしてくれるものだと受け止める謙虚な姿勢が必要です。
The word which is painful to oneself is what makes oneself enhance further. That kind of modest thinking is needed.
