精進
Devotion:
誰しも恵まれた人生、幸福な人生を送りたいと考えている。だが、いい人生というのは天から降ってくるものではなく、自分の心を磨くことによって得られる。だからまずは、美しい心になるように日々努力することが大切だ。
Everyone wants to live a favorable, happy life. But such a good life will not descend from heaven, but is what you get by brushing up you own mind. So, first of all, making efforts every day to having a beautiful mind is important.
心を磨くにあたって基本になるのが「勤勉」であり、仏教ではこれを「精進」と呼ぶ。それは仕事に限らず、何か一つのことに没頭したり、打ち込むことだ。
The basics when you brush up your mind is "diligence, " which is called" devotion" in Buddhism. That means devoting yourself to some one thing as well as your job.
