It is learned that the Financial Services Agency is now delibearting on how it will pour public funds into Howa Bank,which is a second-layered regional bank based on Oita prefecture.This development will be the fitst case of the government's pouring public funds into financially risk private financial institution after the removal of deposit pay-off,which was taken into effect from last April.As another deal,the bank has already reached an ageement with Nishi-nihon City Bank,which is a major reginal bank based on Kyushu,that it received capital investment of 3 billion yen from Nishi-nihon City, in order to take measures against the bank's too small capitalization.The two banks will likely be merged sooner or later ,according to the people concernd.
