Concerning the acquisition battle for Hokuetsu Paper between Oji Paper and Mitsubishi Corporation, Nippon Papaer Group announced that it already had acquired more than 8 % of Hokuetsu Paper's stocks. This move is a countermeasure against the Oji Paper's take-over-bid plan of getting Hokuetsu Paper's management control. Nippon Paper Group will seek for an alliance with Mitsubish Corporation from now on. Meanwhile, Oji Paper will continue going its path already decided.
