"When we get ticked off by the doctor in front of a patient. It's not only embarrasing but it affects our mood to do a good job. Sometimes the patients make it worse by adding fuel to the fire, so don't blame us for being in a bad mood."
文脈からするとこの "get ticked off" は看護士が医者から何か叱られた、あるいは注意されたと理解できます。　昨年 "tick" は "what makes you tick"(the motive or explanation of one's behavior) の形で取り上げていますが、この場合の "tick" はどちらかと言うとポジティブな印象を受けましたが、今回の "tick" はネガティブな感じです。辞書を再確認すると "tick off" に次ぎの説明がありました。
・Macmillan Dictionary: British informal to speak angrily to someone who has done something wrong: He ticked me off for parking in front of his house.

1: reprimand, rebuke: his father ticked him off for his impudence

これは "tick" のダニの意味から来ているのは間違いないでしょう。　いずれにせよ、看護士ではなくとも人から "tick off" されるのは気分が良くないのは人情です。たとえ自分が自分のミスと認めている場合でもです。
