airborne wasabi

数年前に IgNobel Prizeを取り上げた記憶がありますが、Reader's Digest 6月号に最近（２０１１）の受賞内容についての記事があり、下記はその中の化学賞の説明です。
Chemistry: for the invention of the Wasabi Alarm, inspired upon the discovery of the ideal density of airborne wasabi required to awaken sleeping people during a fire or other emergency.
"airborne wasabi" とあるので、またまた日本人の受賞かと思いましたが、IgNobel PrizeのWebsiteで確認すると、日本人の受賞者名（複数による研究）が掲載されていて、米国の特許も申請しているようです。
一応ここでの "airborne" の意味をおさらいします。

"airborne wasabi" が実用化するとは思えませんが、IgNobel Prize受賞はとにかくおめでたい話です。
