トランプ・石破会談、成功

　これはもう大成功という部類だろう。

　比較級的な表現であるにせよ、とにかく日米関係を安定的に進めることの確認がなされ

　小粋なコメントでにやりと笑いあうような、そんな一幕も演じている。

　重要なのは、いろんなことが起こったにせよ、「起こらなかったこと」にある―という微妙な表現。

「But what was striking about the Trump-Ishiba meeting at the White House was what didn't happen.」

　何かしら懲罰的な関税やらなにやらやらかしてくるんじゃねえのか、と大変に不安がられたが、それがない。

　…それだけでも十二分に成功というべき―というのが昨今のトランプの同盟国・友好国に対する態度であった。
　しかしまあ、うちらの国は別に米国に麻薬、輸出したりしてねえしなあ。

　うちらはあんたといい関係を持ちたいと思って、それでけっこー用意したんだよ！と出されて気分が悪くなるひともまあそんなにいない。これは割と大きい。なにしろ世界中、だいたい、トランプは予測不能にやらかすクレージーだからクレージーなんだよクレージーの相手なんかできるかよ、という態度を取りがちだ。

　しかし要点としては

　真っ当に儲けることができるかどうか。これがトランプの中核課題だというのは、普通一般には合意がとれると思うのだが。
　麻薬は真っ当な儲けにならんから却下だ。

　まあ、個々に意見の異なる領域もあるにせよ、そこは文明人なんだからあとでゆっくり話そうぜ―というすり抜けをしたものであろう。ともあれ十分に、相互に満足できる内容であったらしいと、まあそのようなあたりじゃなかろうか。
