米国は10メンバーによる連合艦隊を組む様子。しかしエジプトとサウジアラビアは参加しない模様。
「On Tuesday, the US announced a 10-member coalition called Operation Prosperity to protect merchant shipping in the Red Sea from intensifying attacks by Houthi rebels based in Yemen.
But Egypt and Saudi Arabia have not joined the US-led coalition.」
ギリシャも参加。なにやら世界で最有力の船主国であるそうで。
「Greek ship-owners control 20% of the world's commercial vessels in terms of capacity.」

「Firefighters are still battling a wildfire in Cape Town, South Africa, three days after it broke out.
The wild blaze was quickly spread by heavy winds after it started early Tuesday on a mountain overlooking Simon's Town, about 40km (24 miles) south of Cape Town.」
「Helicopter operations to douse the blaze with water from the ocean resumed early Thursday.」
海水を放つのは、それはあんまりよくないんじゃないか。常識的には。つまりそんな非常事態だと。

「Health authorities in The Gambia have issued a public alert following days of widespread dust in many parts of the country, including the capital Banjul.
In a statement, the health ministry warned that prolonged exposure to dust could lead to chronic breathing and lung problems.」
細かな埃が変に体の奥に入ると健康に影響が出ますからね―というわけ。
「The public has been advised to stay indoors as much as possible, while those who would like to go outside their homes were urged to wear masks and glasses.」
イタリアは正規の移民・避難民として1500名を受け入れる。

1300人を予定していた計画で、200人増し。
「The Italian government will take in 1,500 refugees and asylum seekers from Libya over the next three years, following an agreement with the UN's refugee agency.
The latest deal is an extension of previous resettlement initiatives, in which Italy evacuated 1,300 refugees and asylum seekers from Libya.」
国連難民局としては、ほかの国にもこういうの、見習ってほしいなあ…というわけなのだが、まあ、難しいですよね。
「The agency has urged other countries to emulate Italy "in opening humanitarian corridors, easing pressure on host countries".」
