「シー・ノー・エヴィル」

　

　ニューヨークのパンク・バンド、テレビジョンが１９７７年にリリースしたデビューアルバム「マーキー・ムーン」の一曲目に収録された「シー・ノー・エヴィル」。
バンドリーダー、トム・ヴァーラインのギター・リフが耳に残る歴史的名曲だ。

　それが１９９５年、元ザ・スペシャルズのテリー・ホールがシングルのボーナストラックとして発表したライブ・バージョンはとてもスケールが大きく、オリジナルとは印象が違っていてかなり驚いた。テリーのカバー曲を選ぶセンスとアレンジはピカ一だと常々感じていたが、このときさらに強く思った。
