ホモサピエンス最後の世代になる皆へのスピーチだが2018年バージョンと2020年バージョンがある。この2つの動画をUPしての課題だが、フォーカスによって学生たちのエッセイは幾分異なった。新しいスピーチは2018年度のスピーチよりより記号的で明快になっている印象だ。若者たちがどう捉えたか興味を持った。なかなかいい。いくつか紹介したい。動画は英語と日本語字幕の両方がついていて分かりやすい。

学生のエッセイ①（4月から大学院で歴史の研究を続ける学生）
My opinion：
What will happen when AI starts to manage humans? I thought about it from the perspective of a historian.
In the third century B.C, Plato once brought up the concept of the nocturnal council. What is the nocturnal council? They were those who deeply understood mathematics, geometry, and philosophy. He thought If feasible, they can maintain the laws and peace of the nation. However, there are no such people in the 21st century from the third century B.C.
By the way, can AI be like them? I think it is impossible because AI is influenced by the AI's creator and manipulator.
History teaches us that there are no saints among humans. Whether on a small or large scale, humans have been at war at every age. Human greed is abundant and can lead to war. I think the nature of humans is evil. Moreover, In the near future, AI technology will reveal personal information and thoughts. Microsoft's AI robots make racist remarks, Amazon's AI-based recruitment system discriminates against men and women, and so on, which are out of control.
We shouldn't use things we can't control. It will eventually lead to political problems and complications. As for the demerits of AI, it has the potential to become as irreversible as the strengthening of nuclear weapons in the Cold War.

5 paragraph review for video：
Yuval Noah Harari talked about some of the major problems that technology can create. Modern society is not fully aware of the negative aspects of technology and the threats it can possibly create.
Firstly, the rising use of automation will eliminate millions of jobs from society. Although new jobs will be created through the change in the industry, many people may not be able to adapt to the changes fast enough. Even worse, at one point those new jobs will disappear and new jobs will appear. This cycle will continue along with the improvement of automation. This may create a “useless call people” from the perspective of the modern economic and political system.
Then the speaker presented a unique equation which is B x C x D = AHH. This equation stands for the multiplication of Biological knowledge, Computing power and Data is equal to the Ability to Hack Humans. If someone knows the biological factors of a person and has enough computing power and data about that person, it is possible to hack that human. In other words, one can fully understand that person from their political viewpoints to their deepest fears and hopes. In today’s world, humans are vulnerable to many companies stealing their data and using it for their own means.
Although technology is never deterministic, there are possibilities to enhance certain skills by incorporating AI and biotech. This may create an era where many humans will lose their spirituality. Thus, global cooperation is required to make the necessary rules and changes that will ensure a safe and better future. （留学生）

I listened to this speech and felt very scared. Because his speech is very convincing, and if it is true, it is a crisis of world order.
I was surprised that the data could hack creatures. We know that companies such as Google use various means to obtain personal information, but in the near future, the evolution of algorithms may lead us to be dominated by those companies first. I think we should be worried about it.
Who handles the data is extremely important, but I suspect that no matter who you entrust it to, problems will arise. There is no one that has earned the trust of all human beings, and even if it does, there is no guarantee that that person will not fall into the idea of Stalin.
So should we entrust the data to AI? I also consider it dangerous. Because the world is now “not a jungle”. If the evolution of algorithms makes it possible to hack humans, it will be easier to attack and suppress unprotected humans, so it may be better to stop entrusting data to nonhumans.
Recently, I have often seen stories of AI attacking humankind. Listening to his speech, I wondered if it wouldn’t be long before it happened.
