こうして書いている今も救助活動がなされている所らしい。とりあえず私は更新1時間ほどの段階で見たが、すでに数十人からを救助したものの2名重傷、10名以上軽傷、未救助は数を知れずと。

…去年はオーストラリアだったな。ことしはカリフォルニアか。まあ…カリフォルニアというと、当方で言う「世田谷自然派」みたいな傾向の人たちも多くいるだろう。火災の真っ最中はともかく、火災がおさまったあと、そうした人たちがこぞって植林活動に精を出してくれれば、緑の山野の回復も早まることだろう。そうであってこその自然派というものである―が、そうか、その手の人たちは森林監督官の指導に従うなんてことは苦手そうではあるなあ…。
